Travelling to Gairloch/Inverness

By air: easyJet flies from London Gatwick, London Luton and Bristol; FlyBe flies from Belfast, Birmingham, Exeter, London Gatwick, Machester, Newquay, Norwich, Southampton, Guernsey/Jersey and Schipol (Amsterdam).

Railway: Inverness station is on the main line, served from Edinburgh and Glasgow, and with a fast daily service direct from London Kings Cross, and an overnight sleeper train service. There are several trains a day from Inverness to our nearest station, Achnasheen, some of which connect with local buses.

Megabus and Citylink offer economic comfortable long distance bus services to Inverness from across the UK, with frequent daily services to Glasgow and Edinburgh, and an overnight service to and from London, including the innovative megabusGold Sleeper Coach, which provides full sleeping berths.

The Traveline Scotland website provides superb travel planning for travel by public transport from any UK location. Enter "Pier Road, Gairloch" as your your destination.


If you are travelling from England/Wales then it is quickest to use the M6/M74 motorway to Glasgow, and then head for the A9 from Perth to Inverness, and then the A835/A832 west to Gairloch. If you would like the scenic, but longer, route then head up the west coast on the A82 from Glasgow via Fort William.
